Hastelloy B3, a nickel-molybdenum alloy, offers excellent corrosion resistance. It is helpful in chemical processes with highly corrosive acids at temperatures producing catastrophic corrosion. Minimum 65 % of Nickel and 28 % of Molybdenum forms B3 grade structurally stable superalloy. It is ductile and can be easily formed. It is welded by raising the entire portion to sufficient temperature because of its excellent thermal stability. It can also be cold worked for hardening. Due to Nickel, Rod has pitting corrosion and oxidation resistance that provide a rust-free surface.
